Biografia
Concebido por Ammonoch em meados de 2008 na cidade de Santo André - SP, o Kanvass consolidou-se como um projeto de black metal em 2009, quando o baterista Morbus se junta ao mesmo. A banda mantém-se focada na estrutura de dupla desde sua concepção, tanto no processo criativo como nas apresentações ao vivo.
Após um ano de composições e ensaios por detrás de portas fechadas, a banda lança seu material de estreia, o EP “The Southern Thunder Roars”, em 2014, parcialmente gravado e editado pelos músicos. Com a proposta de executar um black metal misto de técnica e agressividade, composto por 4 músicas autorais e 1 tributo internacional, o material é bem recebido pelo público. O lançamento do EP é acompanhado do single e videoclipe entitulado “Sathanas”.
A banda apresenta-se ao vivo pela primeira vez em São Paulo e em Belo Horizonte – MG.
Em 2015, Ammonoch e Morbus congelam as atividades da banda para dedicarem-se a outros projetos paralelos.
Em 2021 ocorre o relançamento do EP “The Southern Thunder Roars” com novas artes, representando o retorno do projeto.
Em 2022, Ammonoch e Morbus trabalharam as forjas do caos para esculpir a obra-prima do projeto até então; seu primeiro full-length, “Downfall of Individuality”. Contendo 11 composições autorais, o material foi lançado em abril, com distribuição internacional. A banda apresentou-se por diversos estados do país na divulgação deste material.
Em 2023, a banda lança seu segundo álbum, “Generation of Deserters”, em 1º de abril no Necropole Fest – São Caetano do Sul.
Biography
Conceived by Ammonoch in mid-2008 in the city of Santo André - SP, Kanvass consolidated itself as a black metal project in 2009, when drummer Morbus joined it. The band has remained focused on its duo structure since its conception, both in the creative process and for live performances.
After a year of compositions and rehearsals behind closed doors, they released their debut material, the EP “The Southern Thunder Roars”, in 2014, partially recorded and edited by the musicians. With the proposal to perform a mixed black metal of technique and aggressiveness, composed of 4 original songs and 1 tribute, the material is well received by the public. The release of the EP is accompanied by a single and video clip entitled "Sathanas".
The band performs live for the first time in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte - MG.
In 2015, Ammonoch and Morbus freeze the band's activities to dedicate themselves to other side projects.
In 2021, the EP “The Southern Thunder Roars” is re-released with new art, representing the return of the project.
In 2022, Ammonoch and Morbus worked the forges of chaos to sculpt the project's masterpiece so far; their first full-length, “Downfall of Individuality”. Containing 11 authorial compositions, the material was released in April 2022, with international distribution. The band performed in several states of the country for the marketing of this material.
In 2023, the band released their second album, “Generation of Deserters”, on April 1 at Necropole Fest - São Caetano do Sul.
